My name is Christopher Drummond-Welsh and I am nineteen years old. My journey as an Early Years’ Practitioner began when I competed my level 2 Childcare qualification at college. After completing the course, I then went on to gain a year’s worth of experience in a small private nursery. This was where I gained my level 3 qualification and realised that my passion was trying to deliver the best care for the children I possibly could.
Coming from a large family with many children and babies, I had always been adept at entertaining children whilst growing up. My fun-loving and bubbly character is perfect for the children to be able to have fun and enjoy coming to Nursery. My enthusiasm for the children and their development gives them an opportunity to learn and grow in their own unique ways.
When I arrived at WMB Childcare, I was greeted by a large group of welcoming staff members, who moved heaven and earth to help me settle in. I first began in the Toddlers’ room where I met and learned from some amazing staff members, who consistently showed me a more creative and efficient way to deliver the best care I possibly can for the children. After working in such a hard working environment for a period of time, I learnt how to be a more confident and reliable person for the children, parents and other staff members. I am now the Room Leader of the Pre-school room and have recently started my level 5 Leadership and Management qualification. However, without the help of the WMB staff, I wouldn’t have discovered myself and what I am capable of. WMB has taught me many things since I started back in April 2018, but the most valuable lessons I have learnt is that, I can do anything and to never give up!
